5 Ways to Style a Denim Skirt

Denim skirts are one of many early 2000s trends I thought I would never circle back to but the influencers have been influencing! They’re the perfect piece to transition into spring, especially as the weather starts to warm up. They look just as chic paired with a sweater and boots as they do with a tank and sandals. Continue reading for some outfit ideas to try during this winter to spring transition and well into summer.

  1. Mock Neck Top + Knee-high Boots

A long sleeve turtleneck or mockneck top is the perfect cold-weather staple to pair with a midi denim skirt and boots. To take the look from classic to modern, opt for a knit top with a fun design detail like cutouts or an asymmetric neckline.

2. Printed Blouse + Statement Boots

A denim skirt can often feel super casual so I love how feminine and polished the styling is with this outfit. This combination is perfect for a casual Friday and can seamlessly take you from the office to dinner and drinks with friends.

3. Leather Jacket + Graphic Tee

I’m obsessed with the pairing of this leather moto jacket with this pristine white pump. The jacket screams cool while the pump oozes class and honestly, who doesn’t want to be both?!? This is a great look to try once the weather warms up a bit for spring.

4. Button-Up Shirt + Loafers

When you’re mixing two simple pieces like a button-up and denim skirt, don’t be afraid to throw in some colored sunnies or a printed bag to spice up the look. I personally love the sock and loafer combo but if that isn’t your vibe, swap them out for boots, mules or strappy sandals.

5. Oversized Blazer + Crop Top

I’m convinced an oversized blazer and crop top can pair with almost any bottom and that theory has yet to be disproven. With the denim skirt being a “neutral,” it’s the perfect piece to wear with a pair of colorful sneakers.
