This week we’re taking style cues from el Presidente and talking bomber jackets. It’s the perfect piece to throw on once that crisp fall air hits and can be layered over and under all through winter. Also, judging from the way we ALL lost it after seeing Obama wear one, it’s fair to say it’s the sartorial embodiment of “what’s cooler than cool?”
If you want your bomber to be the main event, the easiest way to style it is with an all-black look. Whether it’s printed or just a cool fabric like velvet, the all-black will make the bomber pop and is perfect for transitioning into a nighttime vibe. Since bomber jackets usually add some volume up top, opt for a slimmer fit with the rest of the pieces. For tops, a plain black tee, polo, or button-up all work.
For the peeps who prefer layers to wearing one warm coat, a bomber is the perfect layering piece to help you survive through winter. An easy go-to is to rock a hoodie underneath but I love the idea of layering a vest or jean jacket underneath. A bomber immediately elevates a head-to-toe sweats look but is chic enough to pair amazing with corduroys.
