Monochromatic neutral looks have been a F/W staple for the last few years now (still tbd if it was a blessing or curse courtesy of Yeezy). And while it does look chic, it’s also kinda boring. This week, I wanted to share some ways to spice up the monotony of it all. I’ve been super into adding richer shades of brown into the mix so obvs swooning over this Halima x CR Fashion Book feature.
To switch up the matchy matchy aesthetic that’s often tied to neutral looks, go for a tonal ensemb. By mixing different shades within a specific color scheme, you create a look that’s dynamic but cohesive. I love that these looks show that neutral extends far beyond just a singular tan color.
Make your neutral look more interesting by adding a printed piece in a neutral colorway. Over the summer we discussed how animal prints can serve as a neutral when print mixing, but it becomes an extra pop when going monochromatic. I’m obsessed with this striped look on the right, it’s feels luxe af and the shades of brown in the fur are so rich and fab!
