The Return of the Sweater Vest

2020 has been full of plot twists and the resurgence of the sweater vest is one of the few I’m actually excited about. Before this year, my reference points for sweater vests were That 70’s Show and Carlton Banks, but I’ve seen so many fresh takes on my feed I couldn’t not share with y’all. Not only is it a chic layering piece, but it is surprisingly just warm enough for the yoyo weather we’ve been having this fall. With an Oversized Men's Button-Down

As someone who prefers a no-pants lifestyle, I am always susceptible to any looks that involve wearing an oversized button-up as a dress. Midi dresses are one of my favorite fall staples so it’s no surprise I swooned over this look. When choosing a vest to pair with your dress, the more oversized, the better. Not only does it create an extra layer of warmth, but it also adds a completely new spin to the dress. Wearing your sweater vest as outer outerwear is a commitment, but the payoff is SO good. To achieve this look, choose a coat with a snug fit to avoid any lumps showing through the sweater vest and nothing so warm, you’ll be tempted to take the coat off.
